If you’re involved in IT in general, and in virtualization in particular, then Doug Brown’s excellent DABCC-TV video podcast is a must-see. DABCC-TV is a video show geared around virtualization and Server-Based Computing news and support, providing "how to" videos, detailed video interviews and product demonstrations pertaining to technologies such as VMware, Microsoft, SoftGrid, Citrix, performance management, and application deployment. In the latest three episodes of his show Doug Brown interviews Kevin Goodman, CEO and Founder of RTO Software. This is a real treat because Kevin has a wonderful knack for describing technology in a way that is understandable, engaging and fun.
In these videos Doug and Kevin discuss and demo three products from RTO Software:- RTO Discover - deep discovery of applications, network devices, servers and clients in your IT infrastructure by tracking application dependencies, application inventory, configuration changes and licensing information
- RTO PinPoint - real-time performance and critical-path monitoring, root-cause analysis and end-to-end visibility of applications
- RTO TScale - Terminal Services optimization solution that increases the scalability, reliability and performance of applications through application shaping and resource optimization
I would like to mention that Ericom Software and RTO have a strategic relationship by which these RTO products are bundled with Ericom’s PowerTerm WebConnect. Specifically, RTO TScale is bundled with our PowerTerm WebConnect RemoteView product, and all three products, TScale, PinPoint and Discover, are bundled with PowerTerm WebConnect Enterprise. This bundling means that when you purchase PowerTerm WebConnect you get these RTO products at no extra charge. This is yet another great reason to try out PowerTerm WebConnect today.

are the rto products included with the free version of webconnect?
While the RTO products are bundled with the installation of every version of PowerTerm WebConnect, they are only activated in the commercial versions of our product. Specifically PowerTerm WebConnect RemoteView activates RTO TScale and PowerTerm WebConnect Enterprise activates TScale, Discover and PinPoint.
It is worth noting that during PowerTerm WebConnect's 30 day evaluation period all three RTO products are also activated for evaluation. This will allow you to try them out during this period.
Do you know how this compares to Entrigue's Script Start ProfileUnity?
I assume you are asking about Entrigue's Script Start as it compares to RTO Virtual Profiles. While both products are used in the context of user profile management they provide different services, and might be even used in tandem.
Entrigue's Script Start automates the process of customizing user environments. You can think of it as an automated tool for creating logon scripts, although this description deprecates this product's capabilities. You can use it to generate and maintain logon instruction sequences that map drives, printers, modifies the registry, etc.
RTO Virtual Profiles enhances Windows built-in roaming profiles mechanism. It causes this mechanism to work much faster and more reliably. It eliminates the risk of corrupt profiles and profile overwrites when a single user has multiple sessions. It also reduces network traffic during logon.
Both are good products and both can be used with PowerTerm WebConnect.
